ERIC ELROD
Eric Elrod is an artist and director whose lifelong passion for storytelling began early — from sketching his favorite cartoon characters in kindergarten to studying Chekhov in college. Character and story have remained at the center of his creative life ever since.
Over the course of his career, Eric has worked extensively in the animation industry across production, marketing, and publicity, as well as in creative roles as a story artist and director. In addition to his studio work, he has mentored emerging artists and taught at CalArts, helping guide the next generation of storytellers.
Eric has collaborated with some of the most respected studios in animation, including Walt Disney Animation Studios (2006–2012), Blue Sky Studios (2012–2017), Warner Animation Group (2019), DreamWorks Animation Television (2019–2021), Skydance Animation (2021–present), as well as Film Roman, Marvel Animation, and Disney Television Animation.
Throughout his career, he has had the privilege of working alongside an extraordinary community of artists and creatives. This page features a small sampling of his professional work, along with reflections and lessons gathered over the years — from his early theater days nearly thirty years ago to his work across television and film animation today.
