EVERETT DOWNING
Everett Downing is an Oscar and Emmy-winning director, animator, and storyteller with over two decades of experience in the feature animation industry. He began his career as an animator and story artist at studios including Pixar, Blue Sky, and DreamWorks, contributing to a wide range of critically acclaimed feature films.
He is the co-creator, executive producer, and showrunner of the Emmy-nominated Netflix series My Dad the Bounty Hunter and co-directed the Academy Award-winning animated short Hair Love alongside Matthew A. Cherry and Bruce W. Smith. He also won an Emmy Award for his contribution to the Netflix animated series
We the People was produced by Higher Ground Productions. Everett specializes in bold, emotionally resonant storytelling that blends heart, humor, and spectacle. His work spans action, comedy, sci-fi, and family-driven stories rooted in character and cultural specificity. He is currently developing original animated features and seeking opportunities to direct his first theatrically released animated film.
