MATT NEALON

Matt worked as an architect for two years before attending Cal Arts in his mid-twenties. Matt was picked up by Dreamworks Animation where he worked on such films and specials as "Megamind," "Puss in Boots," "Madly Madagascar," and "Madagascar 3."

Matt then decamped for Illumination Entertainment where he has worked as a story artist on "The Lorax," "Despicable Me," "Minions," "Hop," and more. At Illumination, he also directed three shorts and wrote two of them.

Around the studio, Matt is mostly known for bringing wonderfully weird solutions to thorny story problems - be it the over-the-top first appearance of the Lorax, Gru’s Guacamole hat, or the Flushed Pets Initiation Ritual.
