SACHA BEELEY
Sacha Beeley is an animation director and filmmaker working across independent film, comedy and original character-driven worlds. Her work sits somewhere between playful absurdity and something more quietly unsettling, combining surreal imagery, observational humour and a fascination with awkward, unruly characters. Her films often inhabit dreamlike spaces where the emotional and the bizarre exist side by side- somewhere between a daydream and a private joke.
Alongside her independent filmmaking practice, Sacha creates viral comedy animation for A Studio Digital, including the popular series Robert Yoghurt, a surreal comedy about a freaky little boy that has found an audience with both children and adults. She is increasingly interested in developing original characters and worlds across animated television, digital series and indie video games, with the long-term ambition of creating and show-running her own original comedy series.
Her independent films explore themes of solitude, desire, control and surrender, often through the strange intimacy between humans and the natural world. Sacha is managed by Fourth Wall Management in London and Los Angeles, and has created commercial work for clients including MTV, Amazon and Adult Swim. Her films have screened internationally at festivals including the BFI London Film Festival, Annecy, Fantoche and the B3 Biennial of the Moving Image.
Sacha continues to develop independent short films, with the ambition of eventually making a feature film alongside building original work across film, television, digital media and games.
