STEPHANIE STINE
Currently a writer and director at Toei Doga Animation, Stephanie Ma Stine has extensive experience working on feature and television shows in both live action and animation. She was brought on in early 2020 to be the co-director of DreamWorks Feature Animation's tentpole movie Kung Fu Panda 4. Stephanie is also an AFI Fellow Alum, having attained a Master's Degree in Cinematography from the American Film Institute, Class of 2010.
While in her second year at AFI, Stephanie was chosen to intern under cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto, ASC, AMC (Barbie, Brokeback Mountain, The Wolf of Wall Street) on the movie Water for Elephants.
Before directing in animation, Stephanie had been a feature storyboard artist at studios like DreamWorks (How to Train Your Dragon 3: The Hidden World) and Disney (Wreck It Ralph 2 and Raya and the Last Dragon). She was also an episode director on season one of the acclaimed animated Netflix series She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. Stephanie also teaches a highly sought-after Story Development class at Brainstorm School online. All of these experiences has given Stephanie a rare and unique perspective on the creative, management, and marketing aspects of storytelling and filmmaking.
