VARUN NAIR
Varun grew up in the bustling city of Mumbai, India and comes from a traditional Indian family. Growing up in a family that likes to spend its holidays staying at home, he spent a lot of time sketching, watching films, and daydreaming. During his time at Gobelins, he directed 4 animated short films, traveled to festivals around the world, and won numerous awards.
He has worked for several animation studios (Blue Sky, Netflix, Sony Pictures) as a freelance concept artist on projects such as "Minions 2," "Super Mario Bros," and several unannounced films. He currently works as a visual development artist. He's also working on a graphic novel and developing an animated feature for Illumination based on his original pitch.
Varun aspires to tell more stories that represent diverse cultures. He's dedicated to bringing more Indian stories to the world.
