GUY BAR’ELY
Guy was born and raised in Tel Aviv, Israel, and has lived for the past 20 years in New York, Los Angeles, and Paris. He brings a unique, cross-culture brand of animation that speaks to a global audience, kids and adults alike. Guy recently directed his second short film for Illumination, "Minion Scouts", which was selected as a part of Illumination's Holiday Special. He most recently was HoS on "Minions 2" and worked on "Mario Bros".
Guy is a multidisciplinary artist, having a background as both a traditional and a CG animator, as well as many years under his belt as a storyboard artist. Over the last decade, he has been at Dreamworks and Illumination, where he has worked on movies such as "Penguins of Madagascar", "Kung Fu Panda III", the "Despicable Me" franchise, and "Dr. Seuss' The Grinch"
