IAN ABANDO
Hello! My name is Ian Abando, and I am a Filipino-American artist & storyteller based in Los Angeles, California. Drawing has been my safe space since childhood. It helped me celebrate my authentic self, and better understand the world around me.
I find great inspiration in the opportunities that film has given me to explore unique moments in the banal, in a thrilling and endless pursuit of questions.
I graduated from the Art Center College with a focus on Entertainment Design, and have worked in film, television, and commercials for the last 15 years as a director, storyboard artist, and character designer. My company credits include Illumination, Dreamworks, Sony, Netflix, and Disney on titles such as ‘Minions’, ‘Croods 2’, ‘Blue Eyed Samurai’, ‘Gravity Falls’, ‘Spider-Man: Beyond the Spiderverse’, and ‘Invincible’.
